Hi there, my name is Ralph. I am a British automotive, documentary & portrait photographer based on the wild and beautiful Italian island of Sardegna in the Mediterranean.
I shoot in a very organic, simple and classical way, using only natural light where possible.
Most of the time, this gives me a speed and lightness, which means I can really focus on what I am shooting, without the distraction of too much equipment.
Outside automotive photography, I have photographed subjects such as bakeries, butchers, custom motorcycle builders and racers, wine producers and chefs. I love to try and find the warmth and beauty in the normality of the day to day work environments and to focus on the details of these subjects as much as I can. I am driven by the people creating the work that I shoot and that connection is what brings so much of the enjoyment to my work.
My ongoing goal is to steadily explore and document the inner workings of this ancient island of Sardegna and it’s culture. An almost ‘behind the scenes’ exploration that most who visit or even live here are unaware of.
